Are you an open book or are you a closed book?

I dont divulge my life history but Im friendly IRL. Online Im a closed book. I was lurking on Facebook. Some might say snooping. :D
Anyways. I cant believe how much people share online. Not that I would. They dont have any thing I want. :D
But if I wanted to rob my inlaws it would be so easy. On facebook I can see everything thats in their house. And they just posted that they are dining 2 hours away in real time.

And they have 547 friends. I dont even have 7. :D

At least you have nearly [?] 7 friends - online, or social media friends, I suppose you mean. I have zero "friends" in that sense because I don't do Facebook or other social media platforms.

I just have some family members, one close friend, and several people I eat out with now and then, and speak to by phone. I would describe them as "acquaintances."

My one close friend knows more about me than anyone, my family is next in line, and I divulge no significant personal information to acquaintances.

I'm a pretty private person, so I'd say closed book for the most part, especially online. Like @MACKTEXAS, I haven't ever belonged to facebook, twitter, tiktok, etc. I do open up a bit to people I get to know and have some trust in, both online and in real life. But those are few.

Like @astralcat, although I'm pretty private, people have always been drawn to me and confide in me with their personal problem, fears and seeking advice. Perhaps it's because I'm not that open, and not a big gossiper or blabbermouth, they trust me more with their personal lives? If someone tells me something in confidence, it goes no further.

Now, if somebody wants to start to gossip about somebody else, and they ask me to promise not to repeat it to anyone, I tell them no. I'm not going to hold anything with regard when someone is already spreading gossip about others, if they want me to promise not to say anything, they want six other people to promise the same thing.

Closed mostly but not as closed as I will be after I become a crispy critter 🤣

Online? I have maybe 10 or so "friends" on FB but they are family and maybe two long-time friends. I rarely post, sometimes share things that I find apropos to that person or just funny.

Here what I post is nothing of particular substance, just close to the surface like the weather or shopping or what's going on like laundry. Sometimes...rarely...I mention that I dusted. Yup. Dusted. That's why it's rarely.

IRL? Closed. Definitely closed. Once burned, twice shy.

Me personally. I dont have any IRL or online. Five "friends" aka inlaws show up on my facebook.
There used to be six but I was defriended. They are there cause the husband would have given me the stinkeye. :D
I havent defriended them because they are amusing to watch.
I keep facebook cause I like to watch Reels. I dont post things.

Those guys who robbed the NFL players homes would find these people easy pickings, probably just not worth the money.
