Are you happy with your doctor 💊🏥?

I am not happy with our doctor clinic we have been going to since the late 90's. All of a sudden after many doctors, nurse practitioners leaving, the latest doctor said he could not help my husband, who has some disability problems, but just needed a doctor for some medical problems. We were upset about this and now looking for a new doctor. There seems to be a shortage of doctors but we have a couple that did say they would accept him.
there is a doctor and nurse shortage everywhere i think. covid kinda ruined it for them. plus i think many are leaving the field to do other things because of the wretched way the patients treat them anymore.

Anything but. She's a dismissive, hand-patting, pill pusher. Whenever I mention a discomfort, she says something to the effect, "You're getting older. You're going to have to expect things aren't going to be like they used to be." She wanted be to start taking GLP shots. I said I wanted to research it first. I found it a lot of unpleasant side effects. When I brought that up on my next visit, she said "There are no such things as side-effects. The only side-effects are here..." as she tapped her head with a finger. Sounds like she was sweet-talked by pharmaceutical sales people.

'If you don't like her why do you continue to see her', you might ask. Well, she's one of the two local family practice doctors nearby. The other may be a better doctor, but my mom and I had bad experiences with his staff and his waiting room is SRO most of the time. There are other doctors, but I'd have to travel out of town to busy congested areas in which I'm not comfortable driving with impaired vision.

After years of not having a family doctor, I finally found one that I really like. Not all doctors have a good bedside manner and it's a shame you have to put up with this type of treatment. Maybe in time she will mellow out.....hopefully - or leave and be replaced by a more compassionate doctor.

It's not easy to find a good doctor after my family doctor retired. I went several family doctors, one was good, but when my HB changed, he was unable to prescribe an appropriate meds. The next/second doctor was also friendly, but again not able to rx appropriate HB med. She advised me to seek for cardiologist instead. The third family doctor was competent enough to prescribe my HB meds., but after second and third time visits, his nurse practioner was replaced. She asked me about my personal life along with cognitive test which amounted about 45 - one hour. I needed to drive already 45 minutes to one hour drive for this visit.

Finally, the fourth doctor/current doctor is close to my home and has prescribed the needed meds. along with other meds. I requested. I plan to stay with him.
