Are you having a normal summer time/wintertime where you are?

I live in coastal Northern CA. There is no "normal" any longer. Currently, we're having a cooler-than-usual start to summer, which is helpful in delaying fire season. But eventually the heat will return, and wildfire season will start.

Downside of a (late) rainy winter is that it encouraged a lot of young growth that will dry up and be flammable in the late summer/autumn heat. On the good side, it saved us from another drought year, but we'll see what the El Nino brings this winter.

Here, across the bay north of San Francisco we had an unusually cold and wet winter. First snow I‘ve ever seen on our Mt Tamalpais. Now that winter is behind us it’s still cold and windy, although not cold enough for snow, just 50’s and 60’s. Don’t own an air conditioner, but if we did it would get little or no use.

Ours here in Southern Ontario has been much like yours @fuzzybuddy. Only had the AC on one day so far and normally it would have been working overtime by now. With the exception of 1 hot spell for a few days back in early May it's been cooler than normal. We had a real dry sunny spell for a couple of weeks early June but now it's back to showers frequently.

Actually, I quite like it. Low to mid 20's C (low 70's F I think) and no real humidity - just perfect. The grass, gardens & trees are also loving it! Everything's still nice & lush; not drying out yet. I heard somewhere we're in an El Nino weather pattern this year which traditionally means cooler, wetter summer and milder winter in this part of North America. Don't know if any of that stuff is true but so far ... it's been pretty nice (y)

We still get the Seasons, at least the weather people on TV,
tell me, "Today is the start of the Metrological Spring, or
Summer", the weather is out of sync with the calendar and
is extreme in every case, we got extended Winter, right up to
mid-May, or later, then very hot and humid weather.

I don't like the heat.

Mike.

We had yet another storm to pass through here yesterday, I did not have any damage but people 8 miles away had roofs that blew off..next week forecast calls for temperatures to be over 100.
