Are you keen on travel?

Love it. I'd do it almost non-stop if I could afford it.

In a hostel I met a 40-ish man who had come into a bit of money. He had to choose between buying property and traveling forever on the cheap. He chose the latter. I would too.

I dislike travel so much its even hard to talk myself into a grocery run a couple times a month.

I avoid doing errands too. Not because I hate travel. But because I've already seen the local grocery store, the street it's on, etc. Kill me now!

magna carta:::

navy long beach ca to kaohsiung taiwan, yokosuka japan, hong kong republic of china, olongapo(subic bay) republic of the phillipines..
long beach ca to sasebo japan, hong kong, subic bay
long beach ca to guam marianas islands, hong kong, subic bay...
long beach ca to acapulco mexico, panama canal, roosevelt roads puerto rico fort lauderdale florida, bath maine.
seattle washington to saigon republic of Vietnam, sasebo japan..
seattle washington to guam.

No more at age 89, but enjoyed it in the past. 18 countries, 48 states in the US, 6 provinces in Canada and 8 states in Mexico.

But for a crash on the road, it would have been 50 states in the US. Hawaii was not yet a state when I went there.

Wow, there's a fine list.

I love to travel, but since COVID, I'm not keen on flying. I hate airports, and being stuffed into a plane at this point is not appealing, although I could be convinced to take a nice road trip with the right companion. 🚙

For 10 years, we hit the road for 4-5 months each year seeing America (and Canada). I took international trips with my sisters.

Covid hit and we sold the RV.

I haven't done any major travel since Covid hit except a 2000-mile solo car trip to attend my best friend's 75th birthday party and a plane trip to Seattle to celebrate my brother-law's and my 75th birthday (he's 6 days older than me).

I am so eager to hit the road. Soooo eager. I'm so jealous that one of my sisters is currently walking a "camino" pilgrimage trip from Porto, Portugal to as far into Spain as they can walk in 3 weeks, the other is visiting Spain and the afore-mentioned best friend is in Istanbul. And here I am.....

While I have driven through about 28 states, and seen some beautiful scenery, I am currently quite content to never leave Missouri again. There is so much right here should I have the funds and the time in the future.

I was never a big fan of travel due to anxiety issues. My husband, God bless him, pulled me out of my fears and I was able to enjoy travel with him and our son.

I know that if I came down with some type of disability that prevented me from traveling, I would be depressed till the end. I think my travel bug is genetic (DRD4 gene and 7R variant). My mom always love traveling and it's a passion for me too. My daughter is the same.

My neighbor was in the Navy. He and his wife keep an eye on my house while I'm away. One day we were talking about travel and he said he saw all he wanted to see on Uncle Sam. They like staying home. They are happy with visits from their grands and other relatives. Other than that TV watching is good enough.

I used to do land vacations years ago but all I like now is ocean going trips. I simply enjoy being on the ocean. My best day on a cruise is a sea day. River cruises are not a substitute. Road trips and RV-ing would not satisfy my desire to travel. Just don't like the endless blacktop scenery. Camping? No way Jose!

In two weeks I'm scheduled to be on a 15 day cruise. Half the fun is the preparation and the other half is the actual cruise. When I step on the gangway at embarkation or reboarding at a port of call, I always feel like a kid entering a toy or candy store.

I used to enjoy horseback camping trips for a week or just a weekend, but can't do that any more. Now, I don't sleep well anywhere but my own bed, and its such a production with oxygen and a nebulizer to go anywhere it just isn't worth the effort. And then, there's people.....

I’ve disliked travel since 9-11. It’s only gotten worse. I don’t think I’ll ever do it again. I’m perfectly content to stay in my own territory now.

I sure miss planning the trips. We got some RV travel in during Covid and lately have done a few staycations at hotels just to get away. DH has realized he can’t drive too far now.

my best travel tip is to take your own pillow.
The pillows I buy come in a plastic case with a handle. I keep a couple of older pillows in them just for travel.
