Are you living a comfortable life, caged life or maybe a charged one?
Have you ever said to a friend, that you have a great idea to write a book, and they've said you are crazy for even thinking you could. Well, like many folks im sure, this has happened to me. It took me a long time to realize that, hey, if you really put your mind to it, you can do it!
So, i started spending more time with people like myself who had ideas and going to do them with the greatest of confidence. I get excited when i see other people who are living their dreams, Doesn't matter what it is...book writing, learning how to fly, or maybe even scale the CN tower...whatever their choice, they will do this with great confidence and will power. They want and are living the "charged life" of their choice.
Author Brendon Burchard's novel tells of 3 different lifestyles people live; a comfortable lifestyle, a caged lifestyle or a changed lifestlye. The person living the charged life wonders if he is inspiring others and if he is really actualizing his potential. This book is a good rea
I am living a comfortable lifestyle currently, but do wish i had the courage and still the youth to live a charged one. Heck, i might even consider bungy-jumping!
Now, there is a charge!

Well Dee, at this point I am living about as Comfortable a Life as a 82 year old single male with creaky joints and the usual aches & pains can expect. My Bucket List was completed 5 years ago. I enjoy continuing to learn new things every day.

Like Lon I live a very comfortable life at 86 years. I have friends in the retirement residence where I live, I have family nearby,
I have my cat Callie for company and I love to read, do puzzles, join friends for supper once a week. I belong to the drama club
here; we put on a show once a year for others to enjoy, and have fun doing it.
So yes, I enjoy a very comfortable life and I thank the good Lord for the privilege to do so.

If you have your health and the desire, go for it! We may have limitations as we age but that doesn't mean we can't live within those limits and do some things we desire to do. If I am understanding what you're saying, "charged" may also be relative. Sure, you may not be able to do what you were able to do in your forties, but then again, when you were in your forties, you couldn't do the stuff you could do in your twenties. Also, glad you found the forum, nice to meet you!

I think I'm comfortable and also changing..

Comfortable ~ At the end of this month I'll be retired for two years now. And although I still stay somewhat busy, I'm enjoying the pace of life much better now. Plus we still get together and howl at the moon on Saturday nights which is something I've done for many years. It's fun for us to do.

Changed ~ My wife is still working, so I'm trying to help out as much as I can around the house. I've posted some questions here on these forums about cooking, doing laundry, and have got some great help from some wonderful folks. And I'm discovering that I really enjoy learning how to cook. Made potato soup for the very first time last night.. :pride:

I am living a comfortable life also.I'm 71, have a bad knee but I still remain active. If I do a bit to much, an evening with the heating pad usually takes care of it. I think being around folks who are upbeat and happy helps. I have a dear friend who I've known since high school, When we get together it is all gloom and doom. I realize our lives have not taken the same path. She has had many medical and financial issues. Maybe if I were in her shoes I would be like she is or even worse. I don't know, but it is hard to take and I really feel down in the dumps after being with her for a day. When I'm with my kids and Grand kids I actually feel energized.

I have been retired 6 months and I think I am living a comfortable life. I'm in good health and not any really aches or pains. If I choose to sit and read a book most of the day, that is okay. If I choose to do some home projects, like repairing things around the house, that is okay too. But riding a "zip line" or hiking the Applachian Trail is not on my "Bucket List" yet.

Um, caged as an understatement? Whollly $%&*...sorry but there it is. Younger than many folks on this site. But three humans and several critters dependent on me for life...or death...or whatever comes first. But you know what keeps me going? My boy dog, my Callie. He loves me and would protect me with his life. I will move mountains for my beautiful man.

I'd say now that I'm retired I'm living a comfortable life, just as I planned when I was still in the rat race of working. I did start writing a book once, but chose not to finish it, could have if I really wanted to. No bucket lists, even when I was younger I didn't want to do things like bungie jumping or sky diving. The main thing in life for me is being happy, and that I am with a loving husband and furkids. Never felt caged, now that would drive me nuts.

I favor comfort, I had one knee replaced on my 70th birthday and the other a couple of years later. We had a small travel trailer when we lived in AZ, and enjoyed exploring the west. Now at 82 and 81 we have slowed down quite a bit.

Geezer: not dead, not young, somewhere in between.

If I understand the meaning correctly, I'm living a charged life. Adventures! I'm only 64 though and healthy. Hope we'll be doing the same things in 20 years, but not counting on it.

I'm 79, next month, and am living a comfortable life. Not money wise, but enjoying my home, health and wife. We are home bodies, for sure, but we enjoy simple things. Our tv, IPads, daily trips to the coffee shop and day trips around Florida to see the different parks and places and visits from our kids whenever they can get down here. Life is good.

I'd have to say teetering between caged and comfortable at the moment. I'm working a good paying job that I've done for over 25 years. I used to like the job, but now it's a chore. but, I'm still a few years to retirement and my husband and I are really working toward saving and building the funds for retirement. so, we are both working hard. I still fill my spare time with things I like- crafts and reading with the yearly vacation thrown in. we just had one of our two adult daughters move back home. Now, there's a wrench in the machine we didn't expect. but, it's all good.

Maggiemae, you really should try zip lining! I did and loved it. First they gave us the equipment, explained what each piece was for and how to use it. Then we got a demonstration, an on-the-ground lesson, a zip on a short line that was close to the ground, then another and another before we were turned loose. It was F U N. And I've done it again since then. I've never been what anybody would call athletic or well-coordinated. The first time I tried zip lining I was 71. I've done it since and will again next chance I get. I'll be 76. Soon.

I'm gonna skip the Appalachian trail and sky diving, though☺The trail is too long, and I don't wanna be held hostage by the elements. Sky diving? Naaaah.

Good for you GeorgiaXPlant, you sure are an adventurer! But I prefer my feet firmly planted on the ground! LOL

OP has a great question - I wish I knew the answer.
