Are you okay with being your age?

No. I want to feel great, not compromise as I have done since I hit 50+. I am so inspired by folks in their eighties and nineties who do do yoga and weight lifting and look and behave much younger than their ages because of it. They also know how to eat healthy. These are people I can learn from and emulate to do the same in my own life.
Several people at the gym in our Active Aging class are in their mid-eighties and in fact do Yoga and lift weights. I want to be just like them when I grow up! ;)

I was watching TV about these 20 somethings building a home out in the wilderness. They are chopping firewood, hauling stuff around, etc. It will be a hard, exhaustive life, living off the grid in the middle of nowhere. I thought those idiots, they think there are going to have a 20+ year old body forever. Then it dawned on me that I'm kind of happy to be the age I am-77. Yeah, the bod is shot, but considering the alternative, I'm happy being as old as I am, with all that comes with it. Are you okay with being your age?
I don't fault those younger people, they should live life to the fullest and experience everything they can.....I wish them only the best. I don't think of them as idiots, and as time goes by, they will be well aware of their limitations.

Maybe they will have children who will help them stay and enjoy that lifestyle in their golden years. If not, they will make changes to their lifestyle that suits their abilities better. I'm 70, and I'm fine with that. Have lost a couple of siblings long before they reached their senior years, so I am lucky to still be above ground and enjoying life. I suggest to embrace your age, love yourself and cherish the life you have here on earth. Life is good.

My response is "Beats the alternative". I am pleased with where I am in life, and that I am doing OK at my age.

A lady in my building died earlier this week...at age 98. Sharp as a tack, played bingo here twice a week. Crocheted and always a pleasure to chat with. She once said she hoped to see 100.
My life is OK.
I agree. I have gotten this far in life and I'm grateful.

Sure, I'm happy to be my age. Most of the kids I went to school are long dead. I'm still around. Some might say I'm "hard to kill." No use complaining because my age is not going to change. I am what I am and that's what I am!

I keep hearing people older than me saying '' most of my friends are dead''.... well most of my friends are still very much alive.. when my friends start dying off I'll realise I'm getting old..

At age 74 could be a national poster boy for active fit seniors. Monday, the day after Easter Sunday, will head back out to a local state park exploding with beautiful wildflowers for the fifth time in 2 weeks that will roam about 6 miles within and then later next week be up at Tahoe for a couple days of spring skiing. My tan is darkening. Enough more to write a short book.

That is such a beautiful area, Tahoe, I have only been there once but it took my breath away. I think people that have not seen it would be stunned to see so much beauty packed into that area.

The worst health issue and the best health issue happened at age 19 - diabetes! This changed my carefree eating habit and life style - 60 years of proper diet and daily exercise. At age 79, I walk 2 to 3 miles daily, weight is the same (except during 3 pregnancies) and only healthy, sugar free foods are allowed in the house.

Yes, I am. I don't know anyone who's getting younger.
