Are you running out of electric outlets?

Had my house completely rewired about 15 years ago. Additional wiring and outlets were added, along with a new Consumer Unit. I have more than I need.

Originally there was only 2 in the livingroom, and kitchen.. and just one each in the bedrooms...
Our 1st house had 3, small 2 bedroom 1 bath one in the Livingroom, 2 in the kitchen... none anywhere else.
This remodel on the new house.... kitchen is about the same size...... 9... YES NINE outlets.... and it failed inspection because I still need to add one to the dang island.

Hollydolly, that was a pretty comprehensive description of the wiring in UK houses. In rural areas such as this, the connection is mainly PME - Protective multiple earth. In this case, earth and neutral are bonded together and to earth at multiple points.

I have 6 in the main part of my studio apartment. Two have power strips and two have those boxes that plug in and give you more outlets ( I think they are called splitters or something like that) and one of those has nothing at all plugged in to it.

I've got these six plug outlets you plug into a two plug outlet. As some others have mentioned multiple plug extension cords and device like mine can overload what the wiring is designed for.
But you gotta have juice.

Both my bathrooms have motion sensor light switches. They are a convenience.

By the dining table there is an outlet that has a built in charger. I charge my phone while I am having breakfast.

On the table next to my recliner is a touch lamp which is handy. There is another on the bedside table.

The ceiling fans are on wall switches. I hate pull chains.
