Are you still in denial about climate change? It's frying the Northern Hemisphere. Read this.

pretty grim reading. friends and family on vancouver island have never seen anything like it. and very few folks have air conditioning. deaths seem to be increasing from heat waves globally

when i lived in florida the office i was in on key biscayne was one of the few with parking underneath. sump pumps running all the time. Southern florida loosing its potable water as salt water levels increase

I don't have air conditioning where i live in canada but do run a dehumidifier in the humid weather. (strawbale house offgrid so need to upgrade my solar system etc to run air conditioning) All this begs the question of what each of us can do and our society.

Insurance companies will not be paying out for acts of nature . Can't afford to. I remember hurricane insurance was almost impossible to get in the late 90's

At this point, the people still in denial will never accept the science of anthropogenic climate change—unless, of course, their sources of information and their leaders tell them it's okay to believe in science, which won't happen unless the oil companies say it's okay, and that's not going to happen unless the oil companies can profit from clean energy production.

The basic point is this, there are things we individually can do. Make up an evacuation list so if you have to bug out, you can throw your needed supplies together. If you don't have air conditioning get a portable unit. I just did and it helps. Know that you, yourself are not exempt from the worst that can happen. Practice the good neighbor policy, help those who need it, even if they hold different beliefs. They will believe, when the fire hits their house and kills their loved ones. We need to develop compassion.
