Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

I thought it was pretty well done. Did some commentary earlier. The problem with the story is that it didn't have a definite conclusion. I think she jumped. She wouldn't have left the stateroom without any shoes.

BTW, have you seen that Leanne Morgan show yet?
No, but thanks for reminding me. I know it dropped yesterday.

Watched untamed earlier this week. Mixed feelings about it but loved the scenery.

Also recently started watching Homicide: Life on the Street (watched whole series during it's original run). Usually 1-2 episodes a night all i can handle cause it does get intense, but then i saw Robin Williams was in the upcoming episode. I'd forgotten he'd guest starred. He was excellent of course.

I tried watching the new series on Netflix called Leanne, and it might have been fine, but the added canned laugh track made it unbearable. I don't know why they feel the need to cue you to laugh. It's actually insulting to one's intellect.
Too much hype on a show/series isn’t usually a good sign. She’s been on numerous shows and podcasts. I really want it to work for her.

I wanted it to work as well, but the cued laugh track was just too distracting. With shows that are well written, the comedic dialogue and interplay carries itself, like Grace & Frankie, or Frasier, or The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. The writing, casting, and characters are the magic recipe that pulls you in. If it's not there, you just can't dress it up and sell it.

When a series comes along like Suits, it's a jewel in the ocean of forgettable attempts of entertainment. It has great writing, great characters, intense emotions, plot twists, and superb acting. After a couple shows, you become addicted, and it's hard to settle for mediocre after that. IDK, maybe everyone's taste is different.

Conversations With A Killer: The Son of Sam Tapes (2025)

I hadn't realized David Berkowitz (real name: Richard David Falco) was still alive. But at aged 72 he's still imprisoned at the Shawangunk Correctional Facility in New York State, serving 6 consecutive life sentences.

This is a fascinating 3 part docu-series by Joe Berlinger. He uses present day recordings of Berkowitz juxtaposed with previously unheard recordings following his incarceration. Naturally the series covers the 6 murders and 11wouneded, with in depth interviews of the main police detectives on the case.

I was surprised by some of the revelations, which I won't reveal so as not to spoil them. But suffice to say that Berkowitz wanted to get caught, and insured that he was. Berkowitz as a serial killer was unusual, and he terrorized all of New York City for over a year.

I vividly recall all of the hubbub about it back in 1977, but I mostly forgot about it since then. Berkowitz was one of the first sensationalistic serial killers to rule the media.

If you're a true crime fan, this documentary series will fit your bill. Available on Netflix.

Doc's rating: 8/10

I've been watching Getting On, a dark comedy set in like a nursing home type thing.
Also been watching Men of a Certain Age. I like sitcoms but these are more like a dramedies. Not sure about them. Been watching Call Me Kat. It's ok.

I wish Paramount would hurry up and get the next seasons of everything I was watching. LOL!

I didn't realize Netflix had dropped an entire season. I watched the first two episodes today. It isn't hilarious, but it is amusing. Leanne is believable even in her grief as a woman whose husband is leaving her after 33 years. The supporting cast is also good as well. The woman who plays her sister is a stand-out and the actors who play her parents are funny.

The series reads like her comedy... clean, country and self-effacing. There is even a wayward daughter and religious son as she talks about in her act. It was pretty much what I was expecting and I'll finish the season.

I LOVED Getting On! This was one of my favorite scenes. The nurses could be such bumbling idiots.

I couldn't have said it better myself. 🤣😉

Well, Leanne seems to have found an audience. I really think it is because she is so beloved as a stand-up comedian. The show is by no means hilarious, but it is entertaining. Or maybe because we are all looking for something uplifting in today's environment.

My opinion: it's not bad. Not great but not bad. I dislike the obviously heavily "sweetened" audience laughter. (It's filmed in front of a live studio audience.)

On the other hand, the first season of "Seinfeld" was a little rocky, so perhaps "Leanne" will find its rhythm.

I started watching The Diplomat a few days ago. It's pretty good. Granted, the story line requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, but the big drawback for me is the constant dropping of f-bombs.

I'm far from a prude, but come on, writers. Find some new words, would you?
Not sure if I'll stick with it.

If it's not swear words it's sex scenes. Ugh. I'm glad I can fast forward through that. Can't do that when they're cussing.
