Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

Tried to watch 'Dept. Q' on Netflix, but I found it boring after 15 minutes or so. That's when I found 'Becoming Led Zeppelin' and that made me happy.

Giving up on 'The Gilded Age' I think. Season 1. I find it boring. Maybe I'll try it again, IDK. On Max

Maybe it's just me, it's hard to get me interested in stuff lately. I'm even finding my soap operas boring. Nothing seems creative, just same old same old.
To each their own, interesting how different tastes can be. DD and watched several episodes of Dept Q the day we started watching and the rest the following week on her days off. We find even the differences in how law enforcement and courts work in other countries interesting itself. But then we tend to view mysteries as puzzles to be solved. If we figure out before the reveal--we count as a win, but the closer to the reveal we figure it out the more we actually enjoy the story.

If you regularly watch soap operas and you're finding them boring, i'm thinking something's going on emotionally that is making it hard for you to allow yourself to let go and enjoy something. That's understandable in today's world. When i get that way, it's a sign i'm standing at the edge of an abysmal depressive episode. Same is true if i can't feel a bit of joy when outside in nature day or night.

Of course more than one writer has pointed out that there are only so many basic stories in the world tho the details of who, what, when, hy and how may vary greatly. Most basic plots go back to earliest Myths, Legends and then Fairy Tales. AND by our age we have seen a lot variations on the basic themes already.

Yesterday i started a new Netflix series, The Survivors. Set in Tasmania. Modern mystery with possible links to a 15 yr old mystery. My intent had been to watch just two episodes as there are some documentary things i've got on watchlists elsewhere. Best laid plans--i don't usually get that engrossed in series.

Ended up watching 4 episodes, only stopped because once my East facing front yard in shade of house i needed to change air filter on the car and then it was almost time (9pm) for daughter to get off work and even tho she's been walking home more often with evening coolness, i didn't have time for them before she got home. So they will be first thing i watch later today after doing a couple of tasks i need to do and then taking her to work.

I purchased entire season of The Passage *2019) on Amazon and am re-watching it. I saw it when it first aired and was very disappointed that the show only got one season. It's how I came to be aware of Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who I never paid attention to when he was a popular child actor. I love the interaction with him and the little girl (played by Saniyya Sidney), who I think was brilliant in this. The delivery of her clever retorts and even her facial expressions were priceless. Saniyya went on to have roles in some heavy duty films and has received several nominations for various wards. She is still only 18 years old.

everything is a crime drama or a thriller - no thanks
i tend to go for the documentaries
i tend to watch a lot of programs on @youtube. they have some great documentaries. Love the 60 minutes Australia

I'm still enjoying The Gilded Age--but I've only watched 3 episodes so far. I can see how it could get boring after awhile. Some great actors there, esp. Baranski and Nixon.
I was feeling bad I no longer have Netflix bc I'd like to see Dept. Q but you've made me feel a bit better.

Stay Close,on Netflix. Finished watching it last night.
It’s really good, based on a Harlan Coben book. Stars James Nesbitt & Richard Armitage.

We've watched Fool Me Once, Missing You, Just One Look and Safe (Harlan Coben shows) on Netflix. All have been great. It blew my mind that Michael C. Hall from Dexter played a British character but he pulled it off.

There are a lot of characters in these shows and sometimes it is difficult to keep track, but the twists are fantastic and it is all explained in the end. We will put this one on the "watch list"!

We loved the first 2 seasons of The Gilded Age and will be starting Season 3 tomorrow. Baranski and Nixon are good but IMO play second fiddle to Carrie Coon as Bertha. Her house and her clothing are the most ostentatious in the series. Who doesn't love "new money" trying to bully her way into society?

There are some good mystery series on Prime Video + AcornTV. 'White Lies' and 'Art Detective' are two I'm watching now. 'White Lies' is 8eps as one big story, staring Natalie Dormer. 'Art Detective' is a currently running weekly series procedural (bad guy of the week).

I may try 'Dept. Q' again. Howard Stern was just raving about it; he also said the first half hour was boring; then it got exciting, so maybe I'll give it another try.
