I've been watching Vladimir on Netflix.

It's providing some much needed distraction in the form of comic relief from the current state of the world.

Yes, I think this series was some of Cranston's best work since "Breaking Bad". The story itself was too overwrought to my taste, and a wee bit unbelievable as well. It was really a neo-noir.
 
Side note: I cancelled Amazon Prime. It seems like more and more (up to 1/2? at least) of the movies/shows offered now you have to pay in addition to the monthly amazon fee. Phooey)

Currently enjoying "Kingdom" with Stephen Fry as a lawyer in a small-ish English town. He's so good at the dry/urbane/erudite character!

Also have re-watched some of "A Touch of Frost" with David Jason... but I'm going to give the last few episodes a miss... I was so ticked at the way they ended the series the last time I watched it-- it was underhanded and down right cruel.
 
Just wrapped up 8 episodes of 56 Days, new on Amazon Prime. It is an excellent thriller. I almost can't tell you anything about the story because there are so many plot twists. The story goes back and forth from the present day to Day 1. Suffice to say, in the beginning a handsome guy with a checkered past and a pretty girl meet in a grocery store and fall in love. Present day, two (of course, damaged) detectives find a dissolved body in a bathtub in a fancy apartment. Who is it? Who killed this person? What does it have to do with the guy and the girl? Mind-blowing ending. Not as much sex as the trailer would suggest. Well done.

 
Watched a couple of episodes of an Aussie police drama last night. Deadloch.

The murder mystery itself is compelling, but it was so over-the-top raunchy that I wasn't planning to continue watching. I'm less easily shocked or offended than the average bear, but the almost non-stop, over-the-top lewd references were an irritating and distracting.

Surprising because it gets a 8/10 on IMDB. So I dug deeper on IMDB and came across the following review:

I HATED the first 2 episodes. Seriously, I wanted to kill Eddie myself. By the 3rd episode, I was hating it less, by the 4th episode, I liked it and by the end I LOVED it. I even grew to love Eddie. I read someone else's review who called her the new Jar Jar Binks and I agreed for the first half of the season. But she ended up growing on me.

So, I'll not hash out the plot here, but this show kept me guessing to the very end. I can usually eye the murderer from the beginning, but I could not when watching this show. So, my advice is stick with it to episode 5 and you'll be hooked. We ended up watching it over 2 nights we were that into it. It ends up being a great murder mystery.

The next review offered similar advice, including this:

I have to be honest...after the first 2 episodes I was ready to give up...the characters were more like caricatures, totally over the top, unbelievable and annoying!

But...it gets better, it really does.

Once someone on set managed to convince everyone to tone it down a bit, the drama and pace really ramps up, and now I'm hanging, waiting impatiently for the next episode to drop.

So I'll watch another couple of episodes chance and report back on my findings.

We're just about finished re-watching all 5 seasons of Breaking Bad (2008-2015). When finished I'll write some commentary. It's an extremely well done series, of which I have a somewhat different opinion than when watching it the first time.
 
I go in streaks. Sometimes I won't watch anything for a year or more but then I want something to watch after doing other things on the computer all day.

And I've been that way for years. Sometimes I'll do a lot of Amazon Prime or Netflix and other times they sit unused.

Because of that, I have a very wide selection of things I've never seen and so quite often what I am watching isn't newer and are things others have already seen.

This one I think is a bit older. I've been watching Veronica Mars. It would appear to be something for younger adults at first glance but it's pretty darned entertaining and always has a twist or two.

I find myself going right into the next episode even when tired, and then the next, etc. To me, that's the sign it's pretty good.

So maybe most have seen it back when, or not, but I hadn't. I think I am in the last season now which already is bumming me out. Like a good book, with some things you miss the characters when it ends. Even though one knows it is total fiction.
 
Bodies on Netflix. The same murdered dead body shows up in four different time periods on the same street with the same villan. Police try to figure out whodunnit.

Based on a graphic novel it seems. The actors are all good. I may continue it. I may not.

Been doing a lot of sampling lately. Also lately I am easily bored. Guess I’m stressed
