Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

For anyone who has an Amazon Prime subscription, a series entitled Imperfect Women has been released and it stars two powerhouse actresses... Kerry Washington and Elisabeth Moss. Kate Mara is no slouch either. It is a thriller/drama that chronicles three long-time friends and starts with one of them being murdered.

Basically everyone in the series is "imperfect" as friends, husbands and kids are all damaged. It has lots of great twists and turns. We've seen 7 episodes, and the finale airs on Wednesday. If you enjoyed Big Little Lies, to me this is similar and recommended.

I started watching Graceland a couple of days ago on Disney+/Hulu. No it has nothing to do with Elvis. I still have to finish the first episode, but I think it might be a keeper. That fine brotha...Daniel Sunjata, who plays Agent Briggs, was in the promo, which is why I decided to check it out. I'm also enjoying him on the current ABC hit series High Potential.

Or simply "Harry Hole" (pronounced Oh-lay) is a Norwegian crime series in 9 episodes, starring Tobias Santelmann as Det. Hole.
'
I'll say it's a well done production, but it is dark, dark, dark, and grim. In fact it's too much for me, so we'll probably bail after 5 eps.

Parenthetically, if this series is typical for the Norwegian ethos, I wouldn't be surprised if their suicide rate isn't 50%!...:(

Available on Netflix.

We are on Episode 8. It's a slow build but it's good!

Well darn it. Two episodes left in Hacks (HBO) and they haven’t released them. I’m so accustomed to anything I’m streaming being a full release.
If you watch HBO and love a few laughs, check out The Comeback with Lisa Kudrow. It's weird that it first aired in 2025, then a few years later, and now in 2026. Each time she plays a has-been actress that is trying to cope with the newest trend in entertainment. First it was reality TV, now it's AI. She plays the role beautifully.

"The Comeback" tells the story of a B-list sitcom star so desperate to revive her career that she agrees to star in a reality television show called, appropriately enough, "The Comeback." Cameras follow Valerie Cherish's every move as she angles to keep her head above the Hollywood fray, even as she's woefully out of touch with modern show business. And in the madness that is network television, there is nothing braver than a 40-year-old ingenue who's not quite ready to give up the spotlight. Wikipedia

I've become pickier in my older age. There's so much Limburger out there that it's tough to find something that's even watchable. Otherwise one finds oneself staring at something just to be watching..:(.

Consequently we've gone back and started enjoying Better Call Saul (2015-2022)-- 6 seasons, 63 episodes. It's refreshing to see a high quality production with good writing, acting, production design, and direction. Awhile back we'd re-watched all seasons of Breaking Bad ( 2008-2013), so it was a logical extension to re-watch Better Call Saul.

We watched the first two episodes of the 6 episode BBC series about the Roman Empire called Ancient Rome: The Rise and Fall of an Empire (2006). Compared to what was going on back then, today's problems seem really trivial! I don't think we're going to watch any more. It's really disturbing how depraved people were back then. On second thought, the Nazis could have given them a run for their money.

We finished our last series so we searched Netflix again. A new thriller set in Spain came up. It is based on a book called "The Snow Girl" and involves a 5 year-old girl who is abducted at a Christmas festival in Malaga. Of course, it has the usual cast of characters... a "seasoned" journalist with his new, young female apprentice and a hardened female detective with her young male sidekick. We're into the second episode and have enjoyed it. We love shows set in other countries. BTW, this one is now dubbed in English.

A second season has already dropped, so the first season clearly had an audience.

I'm trying to stay the course with Invasion on Apple TV, but it's slow to get to the alien action. I'm on Ep 3 and it's still mainly focused on the human interest stories. I thought I could download the app and do quick fast forwards on my tablet, but I'll have to do it using the Roku because I can't download the Apple TV app to my tablet. It was touted as one of the best Sci Fi series on Apple, but the jury is still out on this one.

I tried to watch West Wing on Netflix. Made in the early 2020’s, It’s about a Democratic President and his arrogant, know-it-all aids who are smarter than everybody else, but all the rest of the country doesn’t know that. I found it boring. They are simply going over and over and over the same problems and issues of the current 2020’s. IOW, they copied the 2020’s when they made the show. Not very original.

West Wing originally aired from September 1999 through May 2006.
