Are You The "Curious" Type?

As for me, I can get curious about different things: Why people do what they do. People's appearance. The kind of language (foul) that some people use. There are probably a few other things I get curious about, just can't think of them at the moment.

Some people say that when a person is curious about others, they are judging others.........and that is wrong. Well, IMO, I don't think that way. My thinking is this: we all judge in one way or another. Some of us admit to doing it, while others say they don't, but really do.

Sometimes my "curiosity" can get a little out-of-hand and I hear about it. But, that's ok.

So, just how "curious" do you get about people and things?

Curious by nature, was very happy to receive encyclopedia collection as a gift visits to library were always a joyous adventure, delving into the human mind still fascinating, as a kid, couldn't understand and what motivated bullies, so of course had to try to understand them by reading up on the matter at some point, in recent years criminology became even more fascinating especially when I finally grasp the fact that indeed some people are by nature purely evil by societal terminologies and no one or nothing can change some of these types. Even though I know this, I still look for the good in most, but watch my back having found myself in some terrible situations.

I too wondered about the less volatile day to day living behaviors as well, profanity for one like you, I never understood why it was used with such frequency by some, I only in recent years have developed a habit of using the language myself, it can be kind of fun in moments on the net, childish I know. Guess it's what happens after holding back so much emotion for so many years. But still I cringe when it seems to flow of some people's after every few words, not being judgy of their character, just doesn't sit well in my ear and I don't understand the necessity. These things aren't things I wonder on regularly, but they are curiosities. The things that are most curious to me these days are the minds of people in how they follow, do and believe blindly, especially what they hear and read in the news and from people in politics. I'm not looking for a discussion on the matter, but, that is the biggest curiosity for me of late, though I've pretty much already got that solve in my mind. One of the reasons we don't all actually get to say when the trigger gets pulled.

curious about people and things? ...
No, never, .. but I have a couple neighbors that take up my lacking interest in what's going on ...:)

Just me, I prefer to save my energy thinking about what I have to deal with in my own life..

One of the statements that I've heard, when it comes to being "curious" about something is........"You should mind your own business!" When I hear that, I must say......."But, that is so, so boring!" w/a little LOL to go along with that.

I'm curious about many things. Sometimes I do enjoy people watching, especially in places like airports.

I sometimes see people interacting or alone and think what a great candid photo that would make. But taking people's pics without permission is a no-no.

What you are describing is a form of judgment based upon your environment and experiences. The fashion police tell you what to wear and when to wear it, your parents wanted you to become a better person and follow their advice and way of doing things good or bad. I also find myself indulging in a little 'people watching' wondering if they really think that stripes go well with polka dots or wondering what happened to that woman to create such a bad hair day. Then I realize that maybe they really don't care and it's not my place to criticize.

My curiosity is more directed at how does an artist create a beautiful painting or someone gifted with music can make me relax listening to soothing melodies. I wonder how they build buildings so high without falling over. I wonder who came up with the ideas to enhance our lives for the better. I try not to worry about things I have no control over and things that don't affect me personally. Growing up and breaking away from a very judgmental cult hopefully made me less apt to judge a heavy person or how someone is dressed, I'll cleanup my own backyard before I will clean others.

I never was much of a people watcher, or too curious about how they dressed or what they did, I've seen a lot of wild stuff in my days. I think I kind of figured that out a long time ago, and it doesn't really interest me that much. Rather watch the skies, scenery or wildlife instead.

Sometime with bizarre behavior, I wonder why people do what they did, like splitting their tongues in half, or tattooing words all over their faces, or having unnecessary plastic surgeries for physical appearance. But I figure to each his own, whatever makes them happy.

As far as 'bad' language, I grew up in the city streets and it was very common there. I don't think much of it, and I sometimes use it. Occasional cursing does not make someone a bad person. I don't use it in public places, around children, or anyone else who would be offended, it's not excessive or out of control. If I'm home and drop a cement block on my toe, I guarantee some four letter words will fly. :p

I'm curious when I people watch about what a person's occupation might be based on their physical appearance. I'm curious about animals and how they try to communicate with humans. I'm very curious about nature and the near perfect way in which it seems to function.

I am so nosey that I used to join a forum, then open one of my own, from the same provider, so I could see exactly how it works and if they are reading our pm's or not. Some even have tracker codes installed in their forums. He told me how to do it and that is how I learned, hahaha. I was one of the first people in my group of friends who realized that our pm's were being read, but no one believed me and I was labeled a liar.

Now I just like to relax and post once in a while with my friends. I have distanced myself from being overly curious about what goes on in forums as it is a deja vu and I have more important things to be curious about. Like, how much is in my bank account.:eek:nthego:
