On WEST channel on antenna television has Gunsmoke from 1961-1972 or so, where
I live in the afternoons, M-F and Sunday. I was a big fan back when, and I enjoy them much more today.
The acting is usually superb and some actors became well known stars later on, like Burt Reynolds, who was a regular
for a while. It looks corny compared to todays television.
The scenery is Colorado probably, not Kansas, where Dodge City still exists. Of course, some stories are implausible
or unrealistic. Doc Adams works for free and drinks a lot. Kitty is dressed for the opera. Chester is lame, literally.

No. I watch old Maverick episodes. It’s a matter of opinion, and I personally find Bret and Bart more entertaining. There is one episode that is a funny spoof of Gunsmoke. If I can remember the name of the episode I will let you know.

I believe the Gun Smoke parody was called Gun Shy. And it featured a silly version of Matt Dillon named Mort Dooley.

Gunsmoke used to come on at noon and I'd watch it every day while having lunch. I generally don't care much for westerns, but Gunsmoke was an exception, and some episodes were very good. I didn't care for the ones when Festus was acting silly and trying to be funny when he wasn't. Unfortunately, that station changed their programming and I can't get Gunsmoke anymore.

My dad used to call the Westerns “$hitkickers.” I watch a little TV, but I enjoy the old Westerns, Family Affair, Green Acres, Barnaby Jones, Mannix, Cannon, mainly the old shows I watched while growing up, which my wife tells me I need to do.
