The guest bath is for guests. I'd use anything I needed. Anything.

I expect house guests to use anything in the bathroom that they don't need to open a drawer or cupboard to access. On the other hand, should a guest need something else and ask I'll do my very best to accommodate them.

I dunno, I’ve been to some guest bathrooms that looked more like museums

Wouldn’t have surprised me to see them roped off with some sorta golden cord

The soap had other, tinier, more ornate, soap on top of it

The guest towels were meticulously folded in such a way it seemed like I was doing something terribly heathen by actually using them

Made a poster about it in another life

Other than towels and toilet paper, if I am going to someone's home to stay, I would bring a bag of my own personal grooming needs... soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.
