Ah, craftmanship now is not what it used to be. The reality is that in older times labor was cheap and material expensive. Now it is just the opposite.

Great pic. Lake District is my favorite area of the UK (so far).

It's certainly hard to beat. Especially as it's a relatively small compact area and very accessible.

Wester Ross in Scotland is certainly a rival.

Great photo. That must be one of the most photographed bits of the Lake district. I've visited that part of the world many times and seen the bridge - but I've never taken a photo of it.
