Mama and I made the hour drive to our long time favorite Vietnamese / Chinese restaurant yesterday for lunch and had our usual;

Roast duck (1/2).....garlic stir fried rau muong (water spinach).....and shrimp fried rice.

Any other folks like Asian food ?

I had duck a long time ago, and it was good, but none since. I don't like the way it's presented.

Somehow, I don't feel the same way about chicken or turkey.

IMO Baby ducks are a lot cuter than baby chicks.

Oh heck yea! I just had breakfast but my stomach's growling! There's a Vietnamese restaurant in Victorville, I could be there in 1/2 hour. Oh shoot, it's closed today. :(

We have a good well-established Chinese restaurant nearby that also delivers, so we do enjoy a lot of their food, usually order enough for a couple of days leftovers. When we've had the duck, it's always been tender and good.

I love Asian food. I never order duck though. I feel to sorry for it. I guess the poor chicken has feeling also but I saw photos of the live ducks strung up to sell in the streets of China. When we were first married I made a duck for dinner. It turned out really good but there was no meat on the poor thing. Good thing we didn't have company that night. As I remember there wasn't even anything left for the dog.

REAL Chinese food (Vietnamese, etc.) might turn off a lot of Westernized Asian food lovers. Totally different ingredients, presentations, spices, etc.
