Asteroid 2024 YR4 has 1% Chance of Hitting Earth on 22 December 2032

This is quite something, it was discovered on the
27th December 2024, not so long ago, I wonder,
how a fast moving object, like an asteroid, could
fly through space and not be discovered earlier
than 7 years, before the expected landfall?

And it's gone up from 1 to 3 percent in just 2 months. If that rate of increase continues it will reach 97% by the time it gets here.
