Here is what I found on Australian Department of Health's website. No mention of a prohibition, but apparently it is no longer being made available.Australia has now prohibited the use of its covid 19 Astra Zeneca vaccine.
6, April. 2023Here is what I found on Australian Department of Health's website. No mention of a prohibition, but apparently it is no longer being made available.
Approval for use in Australia
From Monday 20 March 2023 Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) is no longer available. The information on this page is for those that have previously received a primary course and/or booster dose of AstraZeneca.
AstraZeneca was approved for use as a primary course and booster dose in people aged 18 years and over.
The TGA provisionally approved it for use in Australia as a primary course on 15 February 2021.
The TGA provisionally approved for use in Australia as a booster on 8 February 2022.
Pfizer, Moderna, or Novavax COVID-19 vaccines were preferred over AstraZeneca for people aged under 60 years. This was based on the higher risk and observed severity of a rare side effect called thrombosis with thrombocytopenia (TTS) after receiving AstraZeneca in people aged under 60 years compared with people aged 60 years or older.

People die from the flu vaccine, too, but like the covid vaccine, it's extremely rare. There is a man here who is taking them to court for MURDER,
his young wife, mother of their two children, died one week, I
think, after she had the AstraZeneca vaccine, he can get nobody
to support him, the government is not interested.
The Coroner ruled that she died as a result of the vaccine.

Mike.
Thanks, that article makes it sound like it was AstraZeneca's decision, not the government. Hard to tell from the government's website.6, April. 2023
A controversial Covid-19 vaccine — linked to a very rare but serious side-effect— has been quietly discontinued in Australia, the federal government has confirmed. The AstraZeneca Covid vaccine, sold under the brand name Vaxzevria, has not been available to the Australian public since March 20.

Found some interesting statistics.People die from the flu vaccine, too, but like the covid vaccine, it's extremely rare.
To put a perspective on the number of deaths, 230,283,056 people are considered fully vaccinated in the US alone. It's still not a huge number of deaths, but it doesn't include those who came near death and were successfully treated.Found some interesting statistics.
I think it kind of puts things in perspective. These are probably just approximate numbers and a bit of apples to oranges, but close enough. The Covid vaccine is about as hazardous as aspirin... maybe less so.
- US aspirin death rate is 153 per million aspirin users https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16086703/#:~:text=Death rate attributed to NSAID,to low-dose aspirin use..
- US Covid Vaccine death rate is about 29 per million doses of vaccine. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html#:~:text=During this time, VAERS received, received a COVID-19 vaccine.
Maybe, as I said this is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison, but the point that the Covid vaccine is no more dangerous than aspirin holds, even if the exact numbers don't. Elsewhere I read that 30% of aspirin deaths are the result of low dose anti-heart attack use.@Alligatorob - from the aspirin deaths link, I looked to see if intentional overdose was specified. I don't think it's there, but they're probably in the count.
Sorry for the delay Alligatorob, here is a different link, I don't@Mike I couldn't read the article very well without accepting cookies, but on the face of it appears as though a man is trying to get someone charged for murder over his wife's death from the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Its a little hard to judge without more facts, but to prosecute someone for murder over a legally approved drug would seem to make little sense. I don't know your laws, or ours very well, but to do such a thing here one would have to prove some kind of fraud, or negligence, or knowledge that the drug was going to kill her before hand. Just the fact that on rare occasion complications can lead to death, particularly when it was disclosed and public knowledge should not be sufficient. If it were we'd pretty much put all drug manufacturers, sellers, and prescribers out of business. All drugs, and foods for that matter, carry some risks just a part of life.
Here in the US anyone can file a civil suit over anything, even without any merit. Doesn't mean they will get far, but filing the suit is easy. Maybe something like that has happened?
That is so tragic, the poor man. There is a man here who is taking them to court for MURDER,
his young wife, mother of their two children, died one week, I
think, after she had the AstraZeneca vaccine, he can get nobody
to support him, the government is not interested.

At least they can sue in Australia. Hopefully more information comes out of the lawsuit.Sorry for the delay Alligatorob, here is a different link, I don't
think it asks for cookies! Instead of accepting them, if you go
to other options, or choices, many have, "Reject All Cookies",
then go down and click save my choices.

I never could think of a good reason to exclude these vaccines from litigation. Maybe had the governments approached it a different way, like putting caps on lawsuits would have been one idea. There is a man here who is taking them to court for MURDER,
his young wife, mother of their two children, died one week, I
think, after she had the AstraZeneca vaccine, he can get nobody
to support him, the government is not interested.

I agree, but even if we had the best version of the truth possible I suspect there are many who would not believe it. We do have a lot of good science based information now, but many do not either take the time to look at it or just don't believe anything positive about the vaccines. This should not stop us from trying to do a good unbiased review of what happened and is happening. The truth about these vaccines cold never be more valuable than it is today.
There is some truth to this, however the important question is on balance do the vaccines reduce the risk of illness and death. Are the risks worth the benefits? I think the data does support a benefit, overall reduced risk.So many different illnesses and deaths are being blamed on the vaccine, but is it?
Without it we probably would not have gotten the vaccines we got as quickly as we did. Drug companies are subject to lots of litigation and big judgements, they would not likely have wanted to release the vaccines without this protection. Or so I believe.I never could think of a good reason to exclude these vaccines from litigation.
Strangely it is the other one that caused me such discomfort for about 2 months, on my fourth jab. I very much feel for those who had such a terrible reaction, at least I was ok. It's all been such a nightmare and I am changed as a person on every level.Australia has now prohibited the use of its covid 19 Astra Zeneca vaccine. This vaccine had been mandated a year ago. Another vaccine now deemed unsafe and ineffective.
Strangely it is the other one that caused me such discomfort for about 2 months, on my fourth jab. I very much feel for those who had such a terrible reaction, at least I was ok. It's all been such a nightmare and I am changed as a person on every level.
I used to be strong, healthy and confident pre-pandemic. I am now weak, depressed and very anxious, my health has broken down due to the sheer stress and isolation of the whole thing.
Still, nothing compared to those who died terribly and the grief of those left behind.
