This is a humanitarian crisis that the world is focused on. Millions protested this weekend to find someway to get aid there immediately.

CAIRO, March 3 (Reuters) - At least 15 children have died over the past few days from malnutrition and dehydration at Gaza's Kamal Adwan hospital, the health ministry in Gaza said in a statement.
"We fear for the lives of 6 (other) children suffering from malnutrition and diarrhea at the hospital's intensive care unit as a result of the cessation of the electric generator and oxygen and the weakness of medical capabilities," Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Gaza health ministry spokesperson, said.

This is being reported by all news outlets. It is true, not fake. The situation is horrific. If you can help go to the UNRWA website. Any amount will help.

And I just found out that government of Canada purchased $43 million worth of military missiles from Israel AND gave that government $28 million worth of missiles and bombs....to use in Gaza. When I was young, we were a Peace Keeper nation. But not now.

It's been reported by 3 different country's intelligence agencies that Hamas has stolen the trucks full of humanitarian food, water, and medical supplies.
I tried to find anything about this. I found a report from Dec.23, 2023. That mentioned this. Maybe you could find some sources for this?

Bought missiles from Israel, or for Israel?

Helping the Gazans rid themselves of a terrorist government is a peace-keeping effort.

Ok, l'll go look for it.

"It" is actually 2 videos on YouTube, one from the IDF and another from Radio Free Europe, I think. Radio Free something.

There's probably more reports today. Anyway, I'll go look for it in a bit.

They did both apparently. The ones they bought have some kind of 'shrapnel' that's shaped like little cubes so you can imagine what kind of damage they do, and those are destined to be sent to Latvia where Canada has military personnel training their military to protect from Russia. And they sent the kinds of bombs and missiles we build, to Israel. When you send the bombs and missiles that will kill Palestinian people, to their oppressor, how does that constitute peace keeping?

No children of Hamas are starving or dehydrated, rest assured, your heroes are safe.
How could you be so casual about children suffering and dying like that? You insist on us getting all worked up about 40 beheaded babies (which has since been debunked by the way, it didn't happen), but when children from the other side are dying of starvation, it gets waved away and denied. I can't understand the seeming desire of so many to see little kids in pain.

Last week I watched CBC News and they interviewed a Canadian doctor who'd just returned from Gaza where he was working in a hospital there and he talked of a ten year old he saw, who's upper arm, he could put his thumb and forefinger around, tips touching easily. As a doctor, he said in all likelihood, that child had since died because when they're that far gone, unless you have the facilities to treat them and bring them back from the brink, which Gaza doesn't have, he will die.

That's really sad and unfortunate. But let's not forget that there are two parties in this situation and Israel is refusing a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. And indeed, I've read several reports that their plan is to allow settlers to take over a portion of Gaza, thus reducing Palestinians area even further, as they have done so consistently in the W. Bank. So 2.5 million people squeezed into a 5 mile by 12 mile plot of land!!! Unthinkable! Those are facts that should be taken into consideration too.

By the way, NY Times is behind a pay wall so I had to go looking for the 'why' elsewhere because I didn't feel like paying for a subscription to see the story.

Those words were for you, dear. You actually have no idea the depths of my suffering over this conflict.
Those words were for me? And what were you trying to prove? Why do you think it's a good idea to inflame an already horrendous situation? You're right, I don't have any idea of your 'suffering' because you come across pretty blasé and unfeeling when you say things like that. Like you rejoice at the idea.

I just searched on "X" for "hamas stealing aid" I got several videos of them allegedly stealing aid. It might be, and that is troubling.
I don't think they might be. I believe they are stealing it and I believe they're selling it to their own people at high prices. I believe they're fabricating death tolls and getting kids to look sad by teasing them with food, like in CallMeKate's post.

I believe they regret starting a war they can't win, but they're cashing in on the gullibility of westerners while they can.

The only oppressors of the "Palestinians" is their government. Literally everyone else helps them. Well, except for Lebanon and Egypt, the very countries they originated from.

If that's what you think, then you know absolutely nothing about how the Israeli government and the IDF treats them day to day. Nothing.

Only she knows everything.
Well, unlike you probably, I spent the time finding out. And by the way, I started from a neutral position on the issue having heard from news reports, all about the suicide bombers years ago, pizza restaurants blown up, etc. I really knew nothing beyond that. Then when Ahmad Tibi, a member of the Knesset, walked out on Stephen Harper making a speech there, I wondered why, and I put in the time to find out.

I may have said it before, but I'll say it again. I focussed on information coming out of Israel's two news agencies (Haaretz & Times of Israel), Israeli human rights organizations (B'tselem & Jewish Voices for Peace), a book about the history of Israel, Jimmy Harper's book, Peace, Not Apartheid, and an ex-IDF soldier named Miko Peled (who's General father, Mattityahu Peled was at the heart of the 6 day war) who became a peace activist himself, fighting for the Palestinians.

I've also listened to numerous ex-IDF soldiers with the organization, Breaking the Silence, who also are outspoken about the kind of violence the IDF meted out to the Palestinians on a daily basis around the country and particularly in the W. Bank. And I looked at UN reports on events and issues in the region because with Israel having been a member of the UN since 1949, if that organization is calling for them to change their actions, that says a great deal too.

I also avoided looking at any Palestinian authors and spokesmen and aid agencies, because obviously they'd have their own biases. And I figured if Jewish voices were speaking out on the issue, they were more trustworthy.

I don't 'know' Pepper. I educated myself on the situation instead of listening to Israeli propaganda where there is a vested interest in spinning the story so that they come out as the victim always.

I'd share a couple of informative videos here so that you could understand why I think like I do about this situation, but for some reason, I'm just getting the 'this video not available' message.
