LONDON, PARIS and BELGRADE -- At least nine people are dead after a shooting on Tuesday at a school in Graz, Austria, the city's mayor said, adding that the alleged shooter is also dead.

Austrian state police said earlier on social media that there had been several fatalities at the school, the BORG Dreierschützengasse.

Officers responded after gunshots were heard at the school, the Styria State Police said in a message posted on social media, later adding, "The school was evacuated and all persons were brought to a safe meeting point."

Some Google facts about school shooting.....
Most school shooters are white males around 17 years old, and for some reason, white males around 31 years old.
I thought the first school shooting was Columbine in1999.But the first recorded school shooting was in 1764 in Greencastle, PA. I For most of the 20th Century, anywhere from 5-10 school shootings/ decade.
The highest number of school shootings was in 2023 with 349.

My previous neighbor’s son took a knife to school and stabbed a classmate in the center of his chest. His dad was telling me the other kid kept bullying him. Although he wasn’t gay, he was effeminate in his actions. IOW, he acted like a sissy. The bullying started the year before. On the next to last day of that school year, he stabbed the kid, slicing his aorta. He had bled out by the time the EMT’s arrived. His last words were “I was just fooling around.”

The start of the next school term, the school started an advocacy program against bullying. The school even offered a reward. If a kid knew of another kid bulling a kid, they were to turn him or her in. They would talk to the kid and if he or she got caught again, the kid that turned him or her in in received $25. I don’t think it went too well.

Maybe it's just more intense news coverage. Maybe it's something else. I grew up in 70 years of peace and prosperity thinking that man was becoming more civilized and mature, but now I think the last 75 years are the anomaly, rather than a norm. Why is this new surge of unrest and hatred worldwide, at least among the "civilized West?" Is the party over? Is the USA setting this example for others to follow, or is this the real nature of man. History suggests this might be. But in the end, I can't explain it.

My next-door neighbours have a son aged 6 and started school one year ago. Within that time, he didn't do too well at school because of constant bullying, probably because he didn't speak much English. His father said he spoke to the teacher who said she had been a teacher for 20 years and hadn't seen bullying (I don't believe that). He has eventually taken the boy out of this school and enrolled him in another school
where he seems to like it much better.

When we become complacent the crooks and schemers take over.

We are the generation that is witnessing a lot of very tough change in adapting to a foreign environment. Surrounded by nonliving everything. Isolated from people. Lied to about extremely important things. We wanted to fulfill ourselves with the way to give us optimum living, never considering the neglect we were visiting on our neighbors and environment.

I have felt this madness in America since the Vietnam War. I made the decision to opt out of America by entering a Buddhist monastery. Now after 40 years, the stuff is hitting the fan. We were promised domestic tranquility by our founding fathers but what I feel we have is domestic chaos.
