Attire for Special Occasions

It’s the season. Do you wear something special or at least dress up a bit more for special occasions like Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc?

If you’re the host, do you change into something nicer before your guests arrive.

I always feel that because the host has done something extra, I should put a little more effort into what I’m wearing.

No. I have home clothes that nobody sees, and public clothes for going out of the house. No fancy or dressy clothes.

If it's a wedding or something, I might put on a newer or nicer shirt.

No, the people I spend the holidays with are very casual which is perfectly fine with me!

I Dont go anywhere now, so all my clothes are everyday and not for best

if and when we do go anywhere , I will just buy something for the occasion

so it’s jean, trousers , tops and leather jackets and boots for everyday wear..

What I'm wearing in my photo is how I always dress. I've noticed that most people dress casually now - even at funerals.

Do you wear something special?

These days my "special" occasions are seasons. I wear shorts and short sleeves in summer, pants and long sleeves in winter. Maybe a coat now and then too.

Although I don't dress up as much as I did in the old days for holidays, I still like to wear something a little special for the occasion. Why not wear it instead of just letting it lay in a drawer or hang in the closet? I don't care what anyone else wears. It makes me feel good to look good and not wear the same thing I'd wear to just hang around the house. The only thing that might happen is someone might notice I look nice. I can think of worse things to notice, lol!

I haven't been dressing up the last few years, but I do go out for a meal every holiday. Dressing up did make me feel good, thanks for the reminder Bella. Time to open up the garment bag and see if anything still fits.

I tend to dress up somewhat if we go out for dinner. However, we haven't dined at a restaurant since the
start of Covid. It's mostly tops/blouses .. no dresses or skirts anymore.

If I get invited somewhere to someone's home for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, I will don a suit, even though most of the times I show up overdressed.

We haven't been invited or have gone anywhere in the past 3 years. Those were the days when we'd get dressed up for Christmas (work) parties, galas, etc. Long gone are those days.

My sister would always get me new PJS for Christmas. She would bring the gift before Christmas, we would always wear our new christmas PJs at each other homes. Now, that is Christmas!!

Even if I am alone I dress up a little bit for the special occasions. Nicer shirt or sweater with the jeans, real shoes instead of slippers, etc. It is not unusual for someone to stop by on Christmas or Thanksgiving.

I never suited a tyre, but my old car did, she wore 4 at the same time.
