Days after Austria imposed a lockdown on the unvaccinated, it has announced a full national Covid-19 lockdown starting on Monday.

Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said it would last a maximum of 20 days and there would be a legal requirement to get vaccinated from 1 February 2022.

How can there be a legal requirement to get vaccinated? Some people can't. What happens to them? 🤔

No further details yet, but Austria has the lowest vaccination rate in W.Europe. They obviously feel that drastic measures are needed and perhaps the threat of legal enforcement is sufficient to 'encourage' people to get vaccinated.

I don't know except that it won't work. The vaccinated transmit the virus anyway. To gain herd immunity, people have to become immune to the virus and that is not happening through the vaccines.
