The peoples' voice will always be heard. First it was the writers and now the auto workers. People who work for a living deserve to be heard and not just do with what they get. I am glad they are making a stand.

Good for them.

Some of it feels dicey. The car sales market is already out of control in regard to pricing, completely ignoring interest rates. The writers and actors want job guarantees now, but when manufacturing and software jobs went overseas there was a lot of dismissive talk from Hollywood about "buggy whips."

That leaves me on the fence, unwilling to take a hard position either way. The more I learn the less I feel I know.

The auto companies make billions in profits, the executives receive huge salaries and bonuses....but the workers barely keep up with inflation, If these strikes last more than a couple of weeks, the dealers lots will begin to look bare, and the people trying to buy a new car will be charged hundreds more....IF they can even find what they are looking for. The foreign car companies will benefit the most.

How much more you willing to pay for a Ford? I remember when everyone in America drove American made cars. Somehow our manufacturing industry lost its competitive edge. You can blame management and the unions for this problem they both have to own it! The finger pointing between them never accomplishes anything. World class quality, innovations, and a competitive price is what made America great. Would be nice to see the unions and the management come together and focus on being the best in the world again...

The first recorded work strike in history happened, in Egypt, on November 14, 1152, BC against Ramses III. Ever since then, workers occasionally have to kick some butt to level the playing field.
