Autumnal/ Vernal Equinox

What I greatly dislike at this second equinox date each year is the imbalance versus sunrise/sunset times. At my latitude, sunrise today is 6:56am and sunset 7:06am PDT with the sun at its highest altitude at 1pm instead of 12pm. Instead if we used Standard Time, sunrise would be at 6am, noon at 12pm and sunset at 6pm to reflect natures balance. All done for retail and leisure industries with their biased media eager for their ad moneys annually spouting how it is better this way. Think about that as we continually get up further into darkness for the golfing and mall crowds.
 
I like the weather this time of the year- warm enough for outside work, and cool enough for sleep. But I hate the sun, when it sets. It just happens that most of the main roads are east-west roads, with lots of hills in the west. So, in the late afternoon, you drive directly uphill into into the sun. I never get up early enough to see sunrise.
