Average cost per day for hospital stay in the US.

One of my Uber drivers said an ambulance to the ER and a few days in the hospital having heart surgery was $250,000 before insurance.
 

When my husband was alive, he had to have home health a couple of times a week. He had PT, OT, and ST. The bill was $1300/week per each different service. Thank goodness he had good insurance and a supplement. I don't think he got his money's worth out of it. I worked with him several times a day on the therapies. Having said that, I don't know what people who don't have or can't afford insurance. I guess they get substandard care which is sad.

His bill was $1300 for twice weekly PT? And $1300 for twice weekly OT? And $1300 for twice weekly ST?
My DIL is an OT.

You or your insurance company were being ripped off mightily.

We had good insurance plus a supplemental. If you have good insurance, they'll take them for all they can. Nothing came out of our pocket, thank goodness. I gave him most of his therapy. They just showed me how.
