i had cataracts removed at same time they gave me corneal implants. First one eye then the other 6 months later. Had excellent surgeon, most such surgeries go well and seeing well worth it. By the way, if no-one has told you UV rays have been implicated in cataract formation. Wearing sunglasses or wearing caps/hats with brim to protect eyes till transition lens darkens if you wear glasses can help slow their progression.

The vast majority of people sail right through it with no problems. Just follow instructions and use the eyedrops that they prescribe. Good luck!

Mine was also a breeze. The only thing was the drops had side effects - made my eyes sensitive to bright lights. I pointed it out to my little lady doctor that I read about it on the internet. BAD! BAD! mistake. Have you ever watched a little lady throw a tantrum? "Quit getting information from the web! Do what you're told! I'm the doctor". Anyway my wife thought it was funny.

I don't see the hip replacement. You're doing ok. By the way. I eat an apple, pear, banana, satsuma, nectarine and a handful of grapes, every day. Apologies if anyone is about to eat, but I can tell you, laxatives, I do not need.

Last eye exam I had pretty bad cataracts. That was about 4 years ago. My eyesight is problematic now even with glasses. I know I'm probably a candidate for the surgery too. I have to get an exam again.

My mom's did also. She laughs at me when I have to wear reading glasses.

Cataract surgery was life changing for me in the best possible way. For Dave, not so much. But then again, he makes Eyore seem happy-go-lucky.
