Back Hurts Since I Changed Mattresses

I was so used to that sunken in (a.k.a. had conformed to my body contours) mattress. It was an innerspring witha pillow top. The new one (simple innerspring) is so hard it's like sleeping on a stone - no give at all. My back hurts in the morning - fortunately it works out when I get up and moving around. I am a side and stomach sleeper - it difficult to even turn over on this one.

I agree with @palides2021 about using a mattress topper. I've never needed one myself, but if your back is hurting it may be because your old sunken mattress damaged your spine. If the new one is too hard, easy to fix with a topper. Good luck!

Yep the mattress topper is a good idea, I agree, however if you are going to buy one don't skimp on it, some are very thin, make sure you get a good thick good quality one. Also I have to tell you that the very worst thing for your lower back is sleeping on your stomach, so you may want to try and change that...,

Yup. Topper. Another thing not to cheap out on. You'll probably also need at least two new bottom sheets (one to wash and one to "wear"). The package will say something like "fits up to 15" mattress" or something like that.

You're right about the sheets too, Georgia. I went to change them this weekend. My new shets are at my otrher house, so instead of having to make a trip there just for that, I tried to put on older fitted sheet. Barely came to the corners of the mattress.
