My hard drive crashed and died, may it RIP....Back up and running with Walmart disposable HP..Thank goodness I had my pics on flash drive.
You just don't know what ya got till it's gone.
One happy camper right now.

It was a struggle especially while drinking my coffee in the morning.
My routine is KJ bible verse for the day, weather, news and face book.
All while enjoying my coffee.
Was driving my husband crazy..LOL

Well done for backing up your pictures. I always do, every week or so, onto a USB terabyte drive. I'd be totally gutted if I lost them all!

For sure...I back up my pictures, etc., to an external drive...and when I get several saved up, I burn them to a DVD....Someday, the kids and grandkids will have hours of viewing if they desire.

Isn't that what "the cloud" is for?

Your data isn’t actually in heaven or in the wind. It has a terrestrial home. It’s stored somewhere — lots of somewheres — and the network of servers find what you need and deliver it.

Then they charge you..............

Yes.

"......as one tech pundit put it: "There is no Cloud. It's just someone else's computer."

I use Google Photo's. It can do some amazing things if you enable the options for it to do so. I know some are paranoid about such settings though.

I'm one that's paranoid about saving things to "The could". I'm worried that everything you save there will never really be private or ever be deleted if you want it to be. And that's it's the cloud owner whose they become. Just like the DNA thing nowadays. You get your DNA tested and then it's owned by the DNA company. I know, not exactly the same, but you know what I mean.

You're not alone! I don't trust storing anything on a cloud either. I have two external hard drives that I use for backups and anything else I want to keep. I make a backup once a month and rotate between the drives each time so if one drive goes bad, I will have a backup from the month before on the other one so that I will still be able to use if I need to.

I don't use Cloud storage because I don't need to. I turn all that crap off on all Apple products, Amazon, Google, etc. What they want you to do is allow your stuff to be automatically stored there, then you reach the "free" maximum and they get to charge you a monthly fee. No, thanks.
