Bad idea to leave someone with Dementia alone?

When I worked as an in home non medical caregiver..to give family respite. More as a companion care. Saddest patient was a lady, only a few years older than me who had Alzheimer’s . She became uber focused on certain things. Her husband when telling me about her, said that if she started sorting out the sock drawer, just leave her to it, as she was anxious about something. Once, when fixing her lunch, I found a muffin mix in the pantry, and decided to bake them. Interesting, she came in, asked what I was doing and I showed her the mix. She took the box and first thing she said was "OK, we need eggs. What else?" we ended up doing it together.
