Baskets - the ones that cost thousands?

Well, it was Bunny Day Sunday. He left a basket full of diabetic candy. OH YUM!!! These baskets didn't cost much. But I have a friend, who has lots of those collector baskets, which cost thousands. She has them hanging from the ceiling all over her house. I didn't know people collected those. If I were a crook, who broke in, I'd walk right by them. Her kids call them their "inheritance". I guess I'm a heathen, because I could never figure out why those baskets were worth thousands. They are only reeds. Have you heard of this hobby, and would you spend thousands on collector baskets, even if you had the money?

Never heard of anybody collecting them and they can have the few I have left. Daughter brought me a basket of Reese's peanut butter eggs and a $300.00 mastercard in it to help with my expenses. I am okay but she says she can afford it and wants to do it. I told her it will also be my mothers day present. She also had a huge breakfast delivered to my house so we had a great meal and visit after early church service. She stays so busy at the pharmacy so I was surprised she had the day off. After all these years it still amazes me that folks wait until a holiday to get their scripts filled. Happens every holiday.

The gf has baskets. I was surprised, as well, when she told me that baskets can be worth big bucks. I guess anything can be worth a lot, if someone out there is goofy enough to pay a lot for it.

I've seen some Amish baskets that I wouldn't mind owning, but I wouldn't spend thousands or even hundreds on them. And then there's this -- they're only worth thousands if you can find someone to actually pay that.

Could be Longaberger in Ohio.
