Be on Guard for Elder Abuse

pretty sure 3 or more folks on here recently reported being approached with a scam and at least one reported that she had to change her credit card number.

So, issue seems current.

The term "elder abuse" does not really, generally mean that. In English, the word "abuse" can connote different things in different situations.

We would not usually use the word "elder abuse" in this kind of situation.

Even though it obviously meets the dictionary definition of abuse...we would use a different word.
 
Y'all should watch "I Care A Lot" on Netflix. It's a dark comedy, but may well be happening. Actually pretty scary the money to be made through one type of elder abuse.
 
I have seen elder abuse last fall in my apartment building. I had talked about it to my office for the aging counselor and she was helping me with getting it taken care of. Then suddenly, the manager of our building was fired. She, my counselor, did not know if it was something that she had done or said in the process of reporting it that caused that to happen. But that ended it right there. It began as bullying with the manager and two other tenants.
