Quote from the movie "The Quiet Man": Is that a bed or a parade ground? A man would have to be a sprinter to catch his wife in a bed like that!

Regular king sized bed here, wouldn't go any smaller. When the dog was healthy enough to get up there and sleep at my feet, along with the cat by my pillow, I need all the room I can get! Hubby had his whole side to himself.

We ususally have some or our fur-kids in bed with us too... Lot's of room for everyone.. Saves on the heating bill too as our bed is nice and warm with our little living electric blankets

QS, how do you like your Sleep Number? Are all the king sized ones split?

We have had ours since 2004.. You can get a king without the split. But since ours is split, we are both able to raise the head or the foot of our sides independently of one another. I don't like to sleep with my head raised, but my husband does.. so it's nice. We also have the massage feature.. Of course we are able to adjust the firmness of our individual side.. We have never had a problem with it.. I love it.. The only thing is that the sheet sets are expensive.. Each of our sets, consisting of two extra long twin fitted sheets, one King size flat sheet and two king pillow cases costs around $150 to $200....

Thanks QS. I've heard stories about crinkly sounds coming from the mattress, and some mold issues in the air pockets, don't know if all that's true. We are ready for another mattress, and have talked about the sleep number. Not sure I want to be plugged in like that though, I was never even fond of using electric blankets. Are the edges of those beds firm, like if you sit on the side of it does it hold, or give in and slope? The mattress we have now is not that old, but the sides are all messed up. If you sit on the edge, you slide off, it's like the springs on the edges completely failed.

Not had any problems and like I said ours is 10 years old. You could go to Sleep Number and give one a try..

An I the only adult in the world that had a twin-size bed? When I stayed at a hotel once, it had a king-size bed and I felt lost in it. Seems a shame they had to change the whole thing since I only used one corner of it.
