Why is it that nobody ever gets lost in the Bermuda Triangle anymore ? No more flight 19 , or Cyclops stories ? Hummm? wonder why?

Hardly ever hear a good UFO story either anymore? You'd think with camera-phones all over the place , we'd be hearing all about them, & seeing pics?.....or maybe that's why we do not ?

You have a point, but, Things change, year after year; technology, communication, new advanced products etc.

It's been a long time since the events you mentioned.

I suppose society has become enamored with shootings , BLM, police encounters, porn-whores & the like?

Lets go back to .........I had a beer with E.T....:)

.

Things that make you go... hummm...

Decades ago, there was a popular book that speculated the world will end 5-5-2000
because of a rare alignment of all the planets. The date and the alignment came and
went and nothing happened... except Putin was first inaugurated at noon on 5-7-2000
with the rare planetary alignment still happening over his head.

Nostradamus X-72, probably one of the most famous of his predications because it
actually has a modern date - July 1999 - was widely discussed... again... until that
time came and went and nothing happened... except Putin was first appointed PM
by Yeltsin August 9, 1999, which is July 1999, per Russia's religious calendar and
the calendar that Nostradamus used [Julian calendar.]

I think it might be due to our short attention spans and the speed with which the news cycle is refreshed.

I notice it when the evening newscasts are filled with breathless reporters going on about massive fires, volcanic eruptions, floods, etc... for several nights in a row and then nothing. Were those horrible situations suddenly resolved or were they simply replaced by a sexier story that came along to fill the sixty-second spot that had been devoted to them the night before.

Plenty of interesting mysteries remain to be solved.

Perhaps as many saucer creatures are as disgusted be what has transpired on Earth as some humans are. They may also believe that it's unprofitable to make contact when there are governments suppressing obvious evidence and foolish people believing them.

The Roswell crash was front page news for several days—until the government said it was a weather balloon. Who would expect the Army Air Corps to know what a weather balloon is? They only launched them.

Exactly !...just as soon as they have squeezed all the blood out of a story...they drop it. Like you indicate , it bugs me as well , when sometimes a follow-up would be nice.

Sure, why not...poign·antˈpoin(y)ənt/

  • evoking a keen sense of sadness or regret.

which brings up another question...why was the thread title changed ?

I know exactly what poignant means, which is why I don't see how it applies to the Bermuda Triangle.

And I would assume an admin or mod changed the title to be more germane to the discussion.

I am/was keenly sad that it has faded from the limelight....as such [poignant] .

And since I am the originator of the topic , how is it that someone else can decide what is more germane to it.

It was indeed a poignant question regarding a topic of great interest in the past.

Because your original title didn't make any sense, haven't you noticed the reminder to use a descriptive title when you start a new thread? Or you just don't care?

Odd that your original post includes nothing of your despair and heartbreak over the topic. I'm sure you will get over it in time.

We are told and I have seen it be told, that the title of a thread must be specific so that there's no doubt as to what the topic is about. Poignant could be descriptive of anything. I can think of lots of things I could be poignant about, but I don't think you would be interested. :crushed:

Even though I disagree somewhat...Most sensible answer so far....Thank you.

With all the satellites and drones etc. people dismiss more then back when it was just an airplane that could go by.

I think the Loch Ness Monster is representative of all the monsters of our minds. We need that to take our thoughts away to something more scary to ourselves. UFO--take us away to where life is better and we live forever. I'm dealing with that now with my dad. Death can wait until I'm ready. It's like his death will be my death. But I'm telling death now--you just wait!!! My dad says I'm the grouchy nurse. You bet I'm am! Because I know best how to make you live longer.
