Best gifts for seniors

Definitely something they would not usually buy for themselves.
A gourmet food hamper, if you know them well choose things they will actually eat. Don't forget a gourmet fruitcake, with all the cherries on top!!
Oh, and a bottle of good qualty sherry!

Perhaps a nice, lengthy phone call be the best gift. You could commit to a 15 minute phone call at a defined time on one day a month. Something to look forward to.

Do these people really need or want anything?

If they have basic or limited cable, subscribe them to a pay channel of their choice.
That is the most unique idea I’ve heard of, as long as they have someone to help set it up if needed.

No keyboard though, right?
You can buy an added keyboard/cover. A tablet with a keyboard is all I use.

Maybe items such as body wash/natural soap bars and such?
Only if you know what they like.

Almost everything listed here would go into a box for donations to someone else. When cleaning out my mother’s possessions, I gave away or tossed too many of these things.

Maybe a couple hours paid handyman, personal-assistant, or house cleaning service?

A gift my mom got that she liked a lot was a battery powered jar opener. They don't last forever (typical junky product that breaks ridiculously soon), so even if they already have one they would probably get use out of the extra one fairly soon.

No idea where you live or the seniors live. But if in the US both Amazon & Walmart deliver so weight should not be a problem.

gift ideas for seniors who don't need anything
Good idea. I send my nephew a gift from Amazon for his birthday, use my address for billing and his for recipient. Can also send little card with it and pay extra for them to put it in a gift bag.

This year we are buying meal vouchers from Denny's (family restaurant) to give because everyone enjoys eating out. We are also buying prepaid gift cards so they can buy whatever they want.

If you can afford expensive gifts, mobility aids are welcome by seniors. Things like large rollators, mobility scooters, lift chairs, etc. We call our scooters Senior Recreation Vehicles (SRV's) because seniors like to have fun too. We cruise the neighbourhoods snooping to see how the neighbours are doing.
