This old dog learned a new trick!
I went looking on the internet for the best way to heat up some left over steak without cooking it more and discovered the Sous vide method. It works like a charm. I just used a zip lock freezer bag. The steak was still medium rare, juicy, and even more tender than the night before.
Quick directions:
The water should be about 120°F to 130°F—warm enough for some steam to rise from the pot (note that the water should not reach a simmer). Place the airtight bag in the pot away from the edges and cook for about 5-8 minutes, or until the meat is gently warmed through.
Edited to add: I did add about a tablespoon of water to the bag. The directions didn't say to do that, but I thought it might help keeping the meat moist.
