Went to Hag's Place in Hollywood to see him when I was about 6 months pregnant. He spotted me and sings his way over to our table
He congrats us and asks when it's due. Then he says "I know you like me as you come to see me but do me a favor, see on tour if a bunch of babies end up with Doug as their name, my wife...well I may be eating skunk for a year" He was an adorable guy.

At Disneyland he was in a stage area that the circle he stood on raised up from below the stage. He was supposed to play a 40 minute set.
When his 40 minutes was up he stepped off the circle to take him down and asked us.. "You want to hear more?" we all screamed yes , he played for 2 hours and broke the strings off 2 bows, he had other bows on the ready they just kept passing them. He drew the largest crowd of all the entertainers there that day. Was amazing his energy. (made an edit it was bows not fiddles, duh!)
