I found those pics a little distasteful, if the animals needed to be put down for whatever reason, it should have been handled in a different way. Now as far as hunting goes, and I am sure it may be different for some, we have an over-population of deer in our state and thinning out the herd becomes necessary so that there is enough food for the others to eat. They also become menacing when they are in rut and many a car accident is caused by them running out onto the roadway. If you are lucky enough to spot them first, you may be able to avoid an accident. When traveling on the highway at a greater speed, the situation becomes deadly. As far as hunting goes, there are specific seasons and they aren't very long. There is a limit per hunter per method, I believe. There is also small game and bow and arrow and again, a limited duration. Even with fishing, there are seasons. First comes to mind is trout which is usually around Easter.
Anyone that I know that hunts, will have the animal butchered and if they don't care for it, it is donated. Deer meat in particular is low fat and some people really like it. If someone kills and let's it set, I don't agree with killing for the sake of killing. A few years back, there was a big problem with overpopulation of deer at a county park and they were posing a problem. They made an exception and pleaded with local hunters to help reduce the population. They can also be destructive and eat crops or come into your yard and help themselves to your garden. Not saying this doesn't always happen, it does but it can really get out of control. I am sure there will be others strongly disagreeing with this, but being raised around here, this has become an acceptable way to maintain a balance.
