My wife’s family always made the relish using a bag of fresh cranberries, a large orange rind and all and a cup of sugar (which we cut to a half cup) whereas my mine always dumped a jellied sauce right out of a can. What a difference!
Of course cooking the bird well, a good stuffing and yummy gravy are maybe even more important but the relish is the only way to go where a cranberry side dish is concerned in my book. We made ours last night so it will be ready in time for Thursday.
So what say you: sauce or relish?
