Oh my - This is so sweet! I can relate - my first parakeet was a sick foundling. I also nursed a baby wren to flight stage, left the door open on the cage outside, and watched it (eventually) fly off. I left the cage so that there would be a reliable food source available. Within a couple days, I had a flock coming into the cage to eat. Birds are AMAZING! Thanks for sharing!

Of the many wild feathered friends we get here, the tiny ones take my heart
….and of those, nuthatches, chickadees, and wrens, the juncos have won out
Their little black heads are so covered, they appear to be eyeless
giving me ability to inject their seeming obvious thoughts
