Bitter-Looking American Indian Chiefs

Here is a good picture of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce. I don’t think that he looks bitter, and it looks to me like it shows his pride, and that he is carrying himself like the respected chief that he was.
To me, he looks like he is thinking in this picture.

RadishRose, I have never seen old happy/humorous photos like you found. Those are cute.

A couple months ago I gave away a booklet from 1910 that was full of photos of Native Americans. I wish I still had it here so I could look for someone smiling in it.
