Black Friday - Has It Started Yet?

It seems like an odd question, since Black Friday isn’t until the end of the week.

In Canada they‘ve been promoting BF sales for weeks and the early sales started on Nov. 20th, if not before. The newspapers are full of fliers. You would think that Christmas just a few days away. The parking lots and stores are full.

Yes it has started. Amazon has Black Friday sales now. I bought a sweater that was reduced in price. I've wanted this sweater for some time but thought it was too expensive. I should get the pretty black and white sweater later this week. I also bought a few other things on sale like an extension for my headphones 🎧

I’ve gotten several online offers, nothing earth shattering.

I hate to buy online this time of year due to the increased volume and potential delivery hassles.

I plan on making a holiday visit to our local mega mall to visit the IKEA store that opened Friday.

This is a ‘baby IKEA’ only 70,000 square feet compared to the usual 300,000-350,000 square foot stores in other cities.

you can buy on most websites now, and if the price drops within 30 days, they would refund the price difference. So you really don't need to wait until black Friday. This is for something you need and plan to buy. For things that are not essential items and you buy randomly only because you see it's heavily discounted, then wait for Black Friday

Thank you for asking this, @Jules!

Black Friday used to be so cut and dried: the day after Thanksgiving; very simple. I've been seeing ads for "Black Friday deals" for weeks now, with no specific dates listed. I don't want to miss out on good prices—for example, on Amazon. (I do most of my shopping online because of where I live.)

I've been meaning to do some research and find out exactly when some of these deals start and stop.

Black Friday sales are being advertised all over the place already. Also, we went to the mall today to watch Wicked: For Good and it was packed!

Many years ago we were RVing in SW USA. I went to the Black Friday sales on the Friday afternoon around one. The sales were all over. That was disappointing.

HBO Max is offering a Black Friday deal: Only $2.99/month for 12 months. It's ad-supported but still a good deal IMO. I subscribed via Prime because it has several movies and documentaries I'd like to see.

The offer is also available via Hulu. It expires December 1.
