Blackbirds mimicking Police Sirens

Just when I thought I'd seen it all.

I think a group of blackbirds are called a "cloud". We used to have some who took up residence in the tree outside one of our windows and they used to amuse themselves by mimicking mobile phone ring tones. They were so good at it that I changed the tone on my phone to something less popular as I was never sure if it was my phone ringing or the blackbirds having a laugh

Although we unkindly reference “bird brains,” birds are far more intelligent than we often give them credit for. I have had blue jays demonstrate memory, and correctly anticipate my behavior based upon past experiences of it…
