I have been thinking about blogging. I want a place that has a lot of theme choices, no advertising, is easy to use and is free. Any such critter out there that you recommend?

The 3 most reliable and popular blog services are blogger.com, wordpress.com and typepad.com. Blog is a bit out-dated, people don't read blogs nowadays. What about twitter? It's macro blogging.

Hate twitter. Too confusing for me. Gadgetry.

I changed my mind. I have an old message board that is closed to the public. I think I will just use it as my diary, lol.

I've been thinking of doing a blog about life and it's joys, trials and tribulations in the north west Highlands of Scotland. Any recommendations will be useful to me also. What's macro blogging please Matrix?

What is a blog? is it like Facebook ? have heard the name but never found out what it is .. ?

Essentially it's a conduit for sharing of information, whether it be your own life, your political opinions, a product you are promoting - anything, really.

My favorite blogger is Allie Brosh, at Hyperbole and a Half. I can't even pick a favorite column of hers, she's so funny.

Oh wait - I'm going to go with this one.

I use blogger............... but you can build a website for free on weebly and insert a blog page on there.

I've been using WordPress for many years now and I doubt I'd use anything else. It's open-source, free (WordPress.org, anyway), massively supported and has thousands of theme and plug-in options.

It may take a while to climb the learning curve but I think it's more than worth it.
