has anyone had a blood pressure monitor , strapped to them for 24 hrs...

My doctor advised me to get one, but there are many to choose from and the prices vary. I'm still thinking about it.

A good one is about $40 and get one that has the auto pump, the ones that fit on your wrist I would not suggest. When my present one goes kerplunk my next one will be a plug in type, they eat up batteries and good batteries are expensive.

Got a wrist one but found out they are not accurate enough from the nurse and pharmacist. Its just me so I don't have anyone to take it like the nurse does. Any time I am worried I go to Walgreens or CVS and they take it the old fashioned way and don't charge anything. They both told me to come any time I need to with my history of aneurysms. I am doing PT now so she takes it three times a week when she is here.

I have the Omron unit
Around 3 or 4 years now
I can't praise it enough
Very accurate
Very easy to use
Even does the heart rate
Keeps a log of the last 14 recordings
$35 on Amazon

My pressures have been registering in the 140s over mid 60s...heart rate is 60

I have the same one Gary has. It works great. I check it against some of the in store monitors and the hubby takes it to the doctors office once in awhile. It is always within range and it is several years old.

I found out the wrist monitors are not accurate because of the bones in our wrists.

You mean one of those monitor recorders that you wear and it monitors your heart beat? Is there one for blood pressure as well? I hope it's electronic.
im not sure what any of you are talking about lol
when your bp is high , the dr puts this bp machine onto you , and you have to go home, and it records all your bp for 24hrs......but you have to relax , when it starts pumping.........relax,? i ask you, when can i relax.......?......it made my arm ache, so i took it off.....🥴

I. too, vote for the Omron wrist monitor. We got one from Walmart 8 or 10 years ago, and it has worked well for us. It consistently reads within a couple of digits compared to what we get at the doctors office, and all we've had to do to it is change the battery a couple of times...uses regular AAA's. My BP is good, but the wife has a bit of high BP...probably because of me...so she gets the most use out of it.

oh white coat syndrome....lol
Yep-When I have mine measured at the doctors it is so high I should be packed off to hospital!Using the machine I bought in Lloyds Pharmacy it's generally in the 120/80 range.
