A good one is about $40 and get one that has the auto pump, the ones that fit on your wrist I would not suggest. When my present one goes kerplunk my next one will be a plug in type, they eat up batteries and good batteries are expensive. My doctor advised me to get one, but there are many to choose from and the prices vary. I'm still thinking about it.
sounds similar to me. its always high when the doctor checks itMy blood pressure runs any where between 138/85 to 157/84 highest 174/84. I check 4-5 times a day?
I have the Omron unitMy doctor advised me to get one, but there are many to choose from and the prices vary. I'm still thinking about it.

My pressures have been registering in the 140s over mid 60s...heart rate is 60
I found out the wrist monitors are not accurate because of the bones in our wrists.Got a wrist one but found out they are not accurate enough from the nurse and pharmacist. Its just me so I don't have anyone to take it like the nurse does. Any time I am worried I go to Walgreens or CVS and they take it the old fashioned way and don't charge anything. They both told me to come any time I need to with my history of aneurysms. I am doing PT now so she takes it three times a week when she is here.
Omron is a good one and the one I have has lasted for 5 or 6 years and still works fine. Avoid wrist monitorsMy doctor advised me to get one, but there are many to choose from and the prices vary. I'm still thinking about it.
You mean one of those monitor recorders that you wear and it monitors your heart beat? Is there one for blood pressure as well? I hope it's electronic.has anyone had a blood pressure monitor , strapped to them for 24 hrs...
