That depends on whether knowing would help me or not. If a therapy is available, then yes.
Otherwise, ignorance is bliss, at least for the time being.
Eventually I would find out as I began to lose capacity but until I did I'd rather have peace of mind.
I do have an aunt who died with Alzheimer's, but I don't think I'd want to take the test. I'd rather just do things that may prevent diseases. I use a quality omega 3 fish oil and take a spoonful of EVCO nearly every day. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/a...-butter-coconut-oil-alzheimers-detection.aspx
I'm a planning-type of person, & I'd want to know so I could tie up loose ends & not leave a mess for my kids, & do whAtever was available to slow the advance. My father had serious memory issues in his early 80's & I lived on the opposite coast with husband & family. He was much older than Mom & I Didn't realize how advanced it was until after she passed away at 60. I was only 26 & had to place him in a VA facility because he no longer could manage alone. Hated to do that, but he had traveled a lot in his working life, & thought he was in a nice hotel that he liked. Felt so sad, to this day but I was an only child with no one to help me.
