Blood Test Results

Got the results of yesterday's tests. CBC, chemistries, thyroid and lipid profile. All withing normal ranges except:

HDL cholesterol: 38 (low)
LDL cholesterol: 109 (high)
Glucose: 115 (and that was fasting for over 12 hours). My A1C was 5.6, though.

Blood glucose levels vary, depending on a person’s health status and whether they have eaten. People without diabetes typically have between 72–140 milligrams of glucose per 1 deciliter of blood.

The cardiologist did not call me, so he must feel all the values are acceptable. I've always had low HDL and borderline high LDL, so did my mom. It may be a family thing. That's why she and all her brothers had cardio issues. Apparently exercise doesn't help me with the HDL after all the work I did this summer cleaning up around the house. I am wondering if I should call my PCP about the glucose. The cardiologist was amazed that I had lost 20 pound since I was there last year. I knew I lost some. I told him that if I could keep losing 20 pounds a year, in 10 years I'll be down to what I should be. He laughed.
