Bombing in Istanbul

I woke up this morning to the terrible news of the bombing in Sultanahmet Square. It chilled me to the bone as my sister and I were standing in that exact spot several months ago. I pulled up the pictures from our trip and, yup, I was standing right there taking a picture of the Egyptian obelisk.

I am so glad I got to go back to Istanbul one more time. Istanbul is one of my favorite spots on earth, but I can't imagine I'll be back there again.....at least until all this terrorism is over and I'll probably be too old to travel over the county line by then...

Will it ever end?

Will it ever end?

I think there's a chance you may see Instanbul again. Terrorism will be defeated as it always is and travel will become safer again. This is just a difficult time for humankind. It will pass. Let's hope quickly and with as little loss of life as possible.
