Boogie woogie greats

The Bach of Boogie-Woogie was Meade Lux Lewis, followed by Albert Ammons and Pine Top Smith.

These were all from the 1930's, when Boogie-Woogie became a national fad, 20 years before Jerry Lee Lewis came on the Rock scene.

Another good player was Jo Ann Castle, who was a regular with Lawrence Welk.

I admire Falcon's ability to play the style! I have trouble coordinating the left hand, playing in the key of C.

OMG ! I well remember Jo Ann Castle from that show. She sure could pound the ivories.

And I loved that cute little Hispanic vocalist. Cute as a bug's ear + a great voice.

What was her name?

That was great! I used to play Boogie-Woogie on my piano. Fun to improvise and good finger exercise too.

I love the Boogie-Woogie on the piano
Had an uncle that could pound it out with the greatest of style

I see a CD for this wood butcher in the near future
